New Mission President!
How's everyone doing? Costa Rica is good!
Last pday, we hiked up a hill close to our area and chilled with some cows. We went up with some cardboard to slide down the hill, which was pretty fun! The view was amazing, too! We came back down, got lunch, and hung out for a bit before going home.
The biggest thing that happened this week is we got a new mission president! President Maddux and Sister Maddux are so cool! We got to go to the airport to pick them up, and we've been helping them out getting settled in. On the way back from the airport, the Sturgess bought us McDonald's!! The Maddux's have had a ton to do, and we will get to talk a ton tomorrow in the mission leadership conference, and then we will have interviews afterward. Saying goodbye to the Cates was a bit sad, but I'm excited to see how President Maddux does things.
The other day, we had all 14 beds filled in our house. (Our house is nicknamed the mission hotel) it's always a party with a whole bunch of elders in the same house.
I did lose my phone in an Uber for a while. We didn't have the phone number for the driver, so we had to go through a bunch of confirmations on the Uber app and ended up getting a hold of him, and he brought it back!
As of our friends in teaching, we are doing alright. We have people with a baptismal date and then don't want to and also people who go to church then just fall off the face of the earth so we are working pretty dang hard to find more people. One of our friends, Rolando, we have never taught in person, but he's come to church and has started his preparation to be baptized!
Pura vida,
Elder Kirby
