Pura Vida!

Good afternoon everyone! Hope all is going well! 


Costa Rica is good! I'm in an area called Escazú and it's a really cool area! It's almost cold! Finding people is a bit harder and all of our friends live uphill so lots of faith! Last pday we played soccer again on the turf field here in the park, we had almost the whole zone there and had a lot of fun. We had arepas for lunch and they were so good! 
Unfortunately both of our baptismal dates fell through! One is because he wants to inject himself with steroids and the other wants her less active husband to baptise her but that's probably for the best! 
We keep getting sent on mini quests throughout the week. Kinda fun! But lots of good food this week! Pupusas for dinner that night! Sorry this email is going to be all over the place because I am just remembering things as I'm writing! We found out we get to be part of the welcome group for the new president! So we will be some of the first missionaries here to meet the Maddux's! Lots of hiking! We decided to go to one of the highest point in our area to see how it was and see if we could find some people that want to hear about the gospel! We had some fun companion exchanges with our zone leaders. Elder Bennion came here to escazu with me and we did a lot of finding! He gave me a lot of good pointers on Spanish and teaching. We did get to meet the area 70 on Sunday and it was really cool! He is a super cool guy and gave an awesome talk at stake conference!

Last P-Day In Mexico City

6 more days until Costa Rica. We got to do endowments and a sealing session today at the temple, we were there for a while but it was super spiritual.  Last weeked was the celebration of independence for Mexico and it was a party all weekend. We had a mariachi band during dinner. They fill egg shells with sparkles and some with flower and you throw them, and they explode and make a bit of a mess, but it's still fun. There were lots of fireworks all night long throughout the city. One of the Elders in my house brought Janga, and after our nightly house devotionals, we have had some super intense games of Janga. For instance, one night, we had around 8 people, and we were so into it, we took 5 minutes each turn trying not to knock the stack over. Not a whole lot to go into on this email now but I'm sure my next email will be in Costa Rica and I will have lots more to talk about. Heredia Week 11

Hey everyone! Here’s a quick update on my week! Monday was pretty normal—everyone did their own thing, so we went to the church to play soccer and basketball by ourselves. Later, we had a lesson with our friend Reynel. Tuesday was pretty uneventful. We had district council and then spent the rest of the day contacting. Wednesday I had my final interview with President Maddux. He gave me a lot of awesome advice for life after the mission. For lunch, we had Caribbean rice and beans before sitting through a 5-hour training with the assistants to the president. We got Papa John’s afterward, which was a nice treat. Thursday we were trying to make up for the time we lost in interviews and the training. Lots and lots of finding. The highlight was definitely putting a baptismal date with Reynel! Friday we visited a referral’s house and ended up teaching a bunch of different things. They even gave us lunch, which was super nice. Still In Costa Rica

How's everyone doing? Costa Rica is still good. Last P-day I ate an entire Little Caesars pizza and half of a 2 liter Coke. Why? I honestly don't know. Just kind of did it and then went and played some basketball. And you can probably guess how that went. We get a lot of opportunities to help some of the kids that we are teaching with their English homework. It goes ok but I realize that I can't teach English very well. It's been pretty hard contacting and finding new people but we keep knocking doors and keep trying. Discouraging but there's not much I can do to make people listen or take a Book of Mormon so I don't worry too much. We have a lot of references that we've contacted so we will see how that goes. But we do have a baptism date coming up soon. Food is still super delicious. Recently I tried some Cas drink.
