9 Months?

How's everyone's day today?? I hope all is well. This week has been good! Lots of changes with the weather and the area! We had exchanges with Elder Garcia, and we had some really awesome lessons and found a lot of people that could progress soon! Lot of rain this week. We only got soaked one day, luckily. Elder Blackwell didn't have an umbrella for a bit, so he got soaked more than once. We put 5 baptism dates, but 3 days later, they moved back to Nicaragua! We unfortunately don't have their phone number, so we don't know what part they went to or have any way to contact them. We passed by the basketball court here in Filidelfia, and 5 kids were playing, so we decided to hop in a play 3 vs. 5. We easily won because Elder Blackwell is tall and could get all the rebounds. But we play really well as a trio, Blackwell grabs rebounds and passes it out to me and Barrios to have open shots.  As of the work, we've been finding a lot of people, and lots are going to chu...

McDonald's Is Expensive Here

How's everyone doing today? Hope all is well!  This week has been good! Last pday we played Gringos vs Latinos in soccer and somehow won. We had zero strategy and ran football plays and it worked! Then we went to McDonald's for lunch and it was not worth it, gave us a tiny burger for way too much money. We really only went for the McFlurrys. We finished up the concrete floor in the house of our recent converts and they were so excited to move all their furniture back into their house!  We found a possum in our house. I couldn't tell you how it got in, we are still trying to figure it out.  We put on a family home evening in a member's house and brought all of our friends from Filidelfia over! We went to our friends house and walked with them to show where the house was. But it started pouring so we gave our friends our umbrellas and put all the phones in my waterproof backpack and got we soaked. First time I've felt cold in about 9 months!  Zone conference on Saturd...

Lots Of Service This Week

Image
Hello everyone! How are things?  As the title says, we've done a lot of service this week! We've been laying and mixing concrete to put in a floor for our recent converts that had dirt floors.  Working in the sun and with this humidity is brutal. Lots of water.  We've been teaching Elder Barrios English and teaching him a bunch of random English sayings, and it's really entertaining. A few of our main areas are drying up so we are making our way out to farther places, and the bus is never on time, so it's been tricky. But we've had people come to church, and lots are progressing! We've invited a few to be baptized, but they said they'd think about it, so we'll pass by and see what their answer is! The amount of fruit we've been gifted this week is a blessing. Mangos, watermelon, pineapple, etc. It's so delicious. Last week we had 8 mangos in our fridge and ate them in 2 days.  Assignment: The Cost—and Blessings—of Discipleship https://www. ch...
