Back To A Gringo Companion

How's everyone doing this amazing Monday? I hope it's well and that you all are remembering to read your scriptures! Well, this week I've been in the area for about 3 days. Tuesday afternoon me and Elder Sanabria took the 6 hour bus ride to San Jose because he was going back home! That bus ride without AC is brutal, to say the least. We got to San jose around 7:30 pm and had nothing else to do until 9 pm, so we played soccer and basketball. At 9 is when we had our Zoom meeting when we would find out about transfers! I am staying in Filidelfia, and as the title of this email says, I got an American companion! I'm now with Elder Blackwell. He's from Lehi Utah and was my first zone leader of the mission, and now we are companions! It's been a party all week, and we both like to lift and eat a lot of protein, so if I don't gain like 15lbs, I'll be surprised. We like a ton of the same things, and it's nice to talk in English.
Work wise, we've hit the ground running. We put 4 baptism dates and had 78 people in our branch on Sunday! It was the most in the history of the branch! We've only been here for 3 days, so I'm so excited for the rest of this transfer! Also, we got an entire container of American lasagna! We have 5 American families in our branch, and one of them just cooked us lasagna for dinner on Sunday!

Read your scriptures

Much love,
     -Elder Kirby
