Ponderosa
How is everyone doing this fine Wednesday? Yes, this email is going out on Wednesday because we changed our pday to Wednesday from Monday to go to the temple today! Last Monday we went to Ponderosa! It was super fun to see all of the animals and hang out with the zone the whole day! I didn't think I'd need sunscreen, but I learned quickly when I went to button up my collar after pday. My neck got fried, and didn't feel great rubbing against my shirt collar the rest of the day.
The work throughout the week has been good! We didn't find as many people numbers wise but the ones we did find seem really interested and want to go to church! We finally had a lesson with our friend Carmen that we contacted around Christmas time and haven't been able to have a lesson because she is super busy all the time! But we set up a time, and the lesson went super well! Carmen was taking notes and was actually listening to what we were sharing and wanted to go to church with her daughter! Later that day, we contacted a house of an older couple and their son. They kept talking and bringing us food! Crackers, cookies, and half of a watermelon! When we finally got around to talking about why we were there, they told us they are Catholic and don't want to go to church with us. We also found a friend named Hector. He got to Costa rica on Saturday and we got to know him on Sunday. There was an activity in the church, so we invited Hector to it to get to know the branch a bit. We hadn't taught Hector about the Book of mormon, and in the activity they talked about, Come Follow Me and the study this year of the Book of mormon. I was a bit worried Hector wouldn't understand much but was busy helping set up tables and setting out food. I came back in, and they'd finished talking, and Hector came up to me asking me for a Come Follow Me book! So we found him one and explained what the Book of Mormon is, and he was excited to read and come to church on Sunday!
Sunday, there were 30 people total in church. And zero of them were our friends. We are trying just about everything to help people to have motivation to go to church, but I guess we need to find something else. Language wise, I need to put in more work. I've adopted the idea that it will just come with time. Well, it could, but it can be so much better if I put more time into it and am actively trying to apply my studies to my day.
Zone Conference was really good! We talked a lot about working hard, but with a desire and how important the book of mormon is in the conversion of our friends.

Your reading assignment for the week: Romans 8!
If you have not read Romans 8, I highly recommend it! I could probably put the entire chapter here to talk about! Some of my favorites are 38-39:
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
