J asked me to send her my studys and advice for studying on my mission, so I thought I'd send them to of you because why not. So here they are 

 

☆Start and end with a prayer to learn what you have questions about and learn more through the spirit. 

 

☆Read with a highlighter in hand, looking for things to highlight 

 

☆ Set aside uninterrupted time to study and keep that habit 

 

☆ use physical scriptures, mute, and put your phone in a different room

• How does Alma 5:6-26 apply to missionary work? 

• Alma 5:15, first time "eye of faith" is mentioned in scriptures

• 8:30,31 - Missionary work 

 

☆Watch confrance talks with an open journal in front of you and pause throughout to write down impressions of the spirit and things you like. 

☆ Afterward, write feelings, etc, and how it can apply to your life in the journal. 

☆ Make the journal your own! Decorate it, whatever, write the ways you saw god that day, but make it yours.

Pray, pray, PRAY, pray, pray.

Nothing has effected my mission more positively then prayer and the accompaniment of the holy ghost. First few weeks of the mission were tough. I didn't pray as much as I should or when I should. I was sitting on the bus to Turrúcares and just pondered my mission so far. Made it my goal to pray more. Praying is free. You can pray in your heart or mind. Why not?? Its literally a direct line to God. I've noticed the accompaniment of the holy ghost throughout my days. The Holy Ghost is pure knowledge. Praying before my personal study is totally different. Praying before contacting is completely different. Praying that my thoughts stay clean and focused on my purpose as a missionary. Praying to remember the words I study in language study. Pray about anything and everything. There are ZERO bad things that come from praying. Love God and invite him into your life.

Last P-Day In Mexico City

6 more days until Costa Rica. We got to do endowments and a sealing session today at the temple, we were there for a while but it was super spiritual.  Last weeked was the celebration of independence for Mexico and it was a party all weekend. We had a mariachi band during dinner. They fill egg shells with sparkles and some with flower and you throw them, and they explode and make a bit of a mess, but it's still fun. There were lots of fireworks all night long throughout the city. One of the Elders in my house brought Janga, and after our nightly house devotionals, we have had some super intense games of Janga. For instance, one night, we had around 8 people, and we were so into it, we took 5 minutes each turn trying not to knock the stack over. Not a whole lot to go into on this email now but I'm sure my next email will be in Costa Rica and I will have lots more to talk about. Heredia Week 11

Hey everyone! Here’s a quick update on my week! Monday was pretty normal—everyone did their own thing, so we went to the church to play soccer and basketball by ourselves. Later, we had a lesson with our friend Reynel. Tuesday was pretty uneventful. We had district council and then spent the rest of the day contacting. Wednesday I had my final interview with President Maddux. He gave me a lot of awesome advice for life after the mission. For lunch, we had Caribbean rice and beans before sitting through a 5-hour training with the assistants to the president. We got Papa John’s afterward, which was a nice treat. Thursday we were trying to make up for the time we lost in interviews and the training. Lots and lots of finding. The highlight was definitely putting a baptismal date with Reynel! Friday we visited a referral’s house and ended up teaching a bunch of different things. They even gave us lunch, which was super nice. Still In Costa Rica

How's everyone doing? Costa Rica is still good. Last P-day I ate an entire Little Caesars pizza and half of a 2 liter Coke. Why? I honestly don't know. Just kind of did it and then went and played some basketball. And you can probably guess how that went. We get a lot of opportunities to help some of the kids that we are teaching with their English homework. It goes ok but I realize that I can't teach English very well. It's been pretty hard contacting and finding new people but we keep knocking doors and keep trying. Discouraging but there's not much I can do to make people listen or take a Book of Mormon so I don't worry too much. We have a lot of references that we've contacted so we will see how that goes. But we do have a baptism date coming up soon. Food is still super delicious. Recently I tried some Cas drink.
