Gun Shots, Israilain Prayers, And False Doctrines
This week felt so long, but it's pday again already! Last pday we had to practice singing for our Christmas concert we are putting on for December. No, it was not voluntary either. The presidents wife said we all had to be there. So we lost a few hours of our pday buts what it is. After we tried to play soccer with one of those really light 4-square balls. It was already a struggle, then it got really windy, so you'd kick it as hard as you could, and it'd just curve right back to you. So that didn't last long. After pday, we contacted the husband of a woman that we were teaching. He was already a bit odd but then he prayed in Israilain and just kept talking about false doctrine trying to get us to be converted to what ever religion he was in, I don't even know what it is, we didn't stay long.
But it's been pretty hard to have lessons or find new people. One day, no one wanted to talk with us, so we didn't have an actual lesson until 6:30. On our way back home we heard multiple gun shots. Once we got closer to the house there was multiple cops patrolling our neighborhood. We still don't know what happened but hopefully nothing bad.
Had a 7 hour zone conference the next day. It started at 9 and we didn't get back until 4. It was really good though and got to know a lot of the other missionaries in our zone.
But the work has been tough. We can't get anyone to go to church. So we try to get more creative in contacting and finding. One day was black Friday or something so we went by all the shops and tried handing out little cards with pictures of Jesus on the front and our number and address to the church on the back. We handed out like 50 cards. There was so many people, you couldn't sneeze without getting it on a random person. No it didn't happen, that's gross. But I was really happy with my Spanish when we were contacting. It was simple but it felt good.
