We Saw An Armadillo
What's good y’all? Costa Rica is so much fun. We went to the Walmart last Pday and bought an American football to throw around and found a Vortex Optics store close by. I had no clue they were international. But it started raining after so we didn't play any sports. But when it was drizzling, I played some basketball. But we tried making some Oreo cheesecake, and I didn't go well. Had district counsel the next day and then went to a really good restaurant called "¿Donde George?" They've got some really good rice and shrimp. But then we had some interviews with President Cates over Zoom because he was sick. But while we were waiting I practiced some Spanish with some of the native Spanish speakers in our district. It went ok but it's good to practice. Finding people has been pretty hard and not many people are progressing very well but we keep trying. But we had some companion exchanges with the Zone leaders and they went really well. Elder Crockett is a awesome missionary from Texas. He works super hard and I learned a lot from him.
But spiritual story: We had a hard time knocking doors yesterday so we kinda stopped on a random corner and Elder Scott told me that we were going to pray and I would be leading the finding for the next little bit. So we said a prayer and I didn't feel any crazy promoting but I just started walking. And the first door i knocked, there was a older man who came to the door. I introduced ourselves and asked if he wanted to know more about the gospel. He let us in and we taught a awesome lesson and we told him how the holy ghost would confirm these things to his soul. We invited him to pray to know if our lesson. So he did in the ending prayer. And we were waiting there for our uber and he says," hermanos, I'm really feeling the Holy Ghost right now"
Random story but we were just walking down the street and ran into a guy and he stopped us and asked what we were up to and we told him we were missionarys so he started asking about us about prayer. Believe it or not, this is pretty much how it went:
Him: So if I pray to God, he will give me drugs?
Us: No, that's not how it works. You need to have action with your faith
Him: So I need to go get a job, then God will give me drugs?
Us: Well, no, you should pray and go get a job and do whatever you want with the money.
Him: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I see what you're saying. Thanks so much, homies.
