We Need More Bakeries In America

We need more bakeries in America. There are so many here, and walking past and smelling the delicious fresh made breads and sweets is incredible, to say the least. All the miesionarys in the steak sung in steak conference last week, and with close to zero preparation, it actually went ok. Last Pday was pretty fun. We went to our chapel instead of the stake center because there was no electricity in the steak center. It should be fixed, I hope. The Hermanas didn't want to play soccer or basketball, so they made cinnamon rolls while the Elders played outside. Most of them turned out really well. Elder Scott made some delicious apple fritters after, and those were a big hit. We have some little cards with pictures of Jesus on the front and we wrote the address to the church and our number on the back and invited some of the members we visited for family home evenings to hand them out so that should go good. One member has a little shop, and she offered to take a bunch and hand them out to her customers. We found a few new people this week. They are really good and seem to be really interested in the gospel, and if they keep progressing like they are, then they could get baptized soon. But first baptism! She's 9 and is so awesome. She goes to church with her grandpa every week and was even in the primary program. But we had to get permission from her mother to baptize her. We didn't need to teach her a whole lot because she already went to church every week and is super smart.

There's a town in our area called TurrĂșcares. It's an hour long bus ride from there to the chapel. We have a lot of friends there who are super great, but it's hard for them to go to church because of the distance, which makes it hard for them to progress. There is a small gathering in one of the members' houses every 1st and 3rd Sunday, but it's not quite enough. We talked to the bishop and our mission president and tried to figure out how to get more of an activation over there. We only go there once a week, but we are planning on going more often. We will see how that goes, there's a lot of really great people there that I'm hoping will get to know the gospel a bit more.
